Pondering ID of this NJ River fish

holy cow. bluegill?! have you ever seen one in comparison to this fish?! green sunny fo sho! nice one at that. they seem to be the meanest of all the sunnies i have kept. do pretty well in warmer water. can be kept with larger more aggressive cichlids. nice catch! enjoy!

Anyone interested in taking it from me? I don't think I'll be giving him the proper home in a 45g although he eats like a king lol

i think if you were intereted in keeping it, a 45 may be big enough for a single green. depends on the dimensions though.

Around here we call them rock bass. At least thats what it looks like we catch.

actually the more I look at it is a green sunfish. Rock bass have some red and black in the sides. very similar fish though.
