Ive seen plenty of animals turn too rough on each other with injuries, calls for owner to take responsibility and separate the 2,not by death. No matter how domesticated it is being an animal.Ive got a pit bull and 2 cats that take turns punking each other often but if something got bad I have to know that they were only together because I let them be.The rest of the time they snuggle, the newest cat wont leave him alone with the rubbing and kissing, its ridiculous.Anyways,my cat scratched the dogs eye real bad once across the white and the eye lid,it bled plenty and scabbed up but finaly healed, animals will be animals, just like little kids. Its not the dogs fault he is so strong, the cat may have took some swats at him or went after his food or something. You can tame them and train them the best you can but something can always happen.Hope the cat heals good.

those are definately holes from canines. i would not let the kitty around the dog again-good thing the kitty wasnt killed...

I hope yours is ok too!

I had to feed Squirt from a spoon until she got used to eating with a pin sticking out of her face. Grandma gets mad at me for calling her Scarface now :D

If the pill is crushable, I've heard of putting it in peanut butter. It sticks to the roof of their mouth so they HAVE to lick it off. That way they get the whole thing and a peanut butter treat too.

somebody else mentioned this will try this later on

We haven't had luck putting the pills in food, they're just too nasty tasting.

It's not easy, but the best way is just cramming in the back of their throat, closing their mouth, and massaging the throat until they gulp. If your cat is too freaky you may need to wrap them in a blanket. It's hard to manhandle your poor sick kitty, but it's for their own good.

Anothre possibility is liquid antibiotics, you squirt a syringe-full down their throats.
