just out of curiosity, how are you going to have the lid of the table exactly? i mean, is it going to sit directly on the tank, or is it going to be suspended a few inches to make room for the wires and what-not by like a piece of acrylic or plastic or something?

well i need the water to be 75-78 degrees. and the powerhead(three powerheads and one undergravle filter style powerhead but its loud) the powerhead wont probuce enough heat just runing so i mught toss in a cheapo submersable heater the smallest they have, so like 35w.

there will be no top... thats why its 8" tall of vertical plastic... so unless the crab wants to make a darring escape and build a mound im not going to need one.

the lighting will be a halogen potlight in the celing. and some plant growing upwards. some bamboo and dragon lillies and dwarf plants.

this is in my basement, water set out is only 70-72 depending on where in the room it is. its not insulated yet... this is hard for people in florida to understand but when its really really cold outside then it gets a bit colder inside...

tropical beings need tropical conditions... but now that you mention it the light might radiate enough heat down to wat the water... hmm?, i might hold off on the heater?...

only it needs to be plumed in first?, gerrrr... all of the wires are going to be sealed in from either the bottom(drilling through table) or out the back.

By the way today was a test day, on what would work best for the base, no pics though... the top of the playpen is being rounded off and polished and thats not easy ... by hand, 120g, 240g, 400g, maroon scuff pag, steel wool, 3000g then blue polishing compound on a cotton wheel...
