I had a breeding pair of red devils that were 5 inches.

I wouldn't doubt that jags could breed at 7 inches.

I mean it varies, but I have seen people's breeding jags before, I mean look at the close relative dovii.

Isn't someone breeding a dovii pair right now in a 75 that are about 5 inches or something like that? at2 is their name I think. Doviis get waaay bigger than jags, there is no way they are half their full size.

and i have a breeding pair of dovii with the female being 6inches and the male 3-4in so large cichlids can breed at younger ages/smaller sizes. like everything else with them, i think it just depends on the indiviual fish.

I've seen reports, but never actual proof of jags breeding as small as 6" when they are kept in proper housing their entire lives.

Get real. Herichthys carpinte males can attain a length of 10" - my breeding pair were 3" when they spawned. The fry hatched and I sold them. Convict males get to 8" - they start spawning at 2".

actually something similar happening with my oscar and jag. they are both digging pits together and fanning eachother, all sorts of wierd things. just started happening tonight
