Possible job at petsmart (lol)

I'm only sixteen, and caring for petsmart fish is the only occupation that wouldn't drive me to insanity until i can get to college.

Anyone here who worked/works for petsmart have any advice?

Mainly like, how hard is it?... how young will they hire? good pay?

I'll probably just hang out around the fish wall and help people, fudge with the filters and whatnot, I've already found myself correcting some of the employees there about fish related stuff :ROFL:

forget petsmart work at a privately owned pet store. dont help those places they dont know anything there

Well, i would like to, but the closest lfs is pretty far away...

And those fish deserve someone who knows what they are doing for once :grinno:

Go to Petsmart, and teach them about fish care. We all start somewhere. I worked at a fish store for awhile. It's a start, and it puts something on your resume for later in life.
 
nothing wrong with petsmart,I worked there for a while as a stocker. I don't remember how much I got payed it was some where around $5.75 to 7.00 an hour and that was when I was 18(which was almost 9 years ago).. now on disability for basiclly my whole life.
 
I'm sure the pays not the greatest but the experience will be. Only problem I had when I worked at a LFS right out of high school was getting burned out. I was doing water changes and cleaning 20-30 tanks a day and then coming home and not even looking at my own tanks. I eventually stopped keeping fish for a while even when I went to college. But, don't let that discourage you. I had alot on my plate with work, school, girl, rent, etc. Fish just fell off but I always loved them and I ended up with like 30 tanks in my place a few years later when I found the right girl.
 
I'm pretty sure they hire at fiffteen.

I worked at petgoods for a while. I was fortunate enough to be working with people who knew what they were doing, but I had a great time. It's alot of fun being around animals all day, and you meet alot of fellow MFKers in the process haha
