Characin, looks kinda like a redtail chalceus but with a yellow tail.

The african butterfly is not in the "arowana" family. I too though it was at one time but it is not.

this is the conundrum. the green coloration on the side fits, the large scales fits, but the size is over double and the scales on the belly aren't anywhere near as small as the chalceus.
