Greek, "Osteon" = bone + Greek, "Glossa" = tongue (Osteon+glossa) Take the letter "N" out and change the letter "A" to letter "O". That makes Osteoglosso means "bony tongue" in English.
Interesting, really never thought knife fish and elephant noses would be bony tongues
