If the titles under the usernames disappeared, along with the post counts, everyone would be on equal footing. And, the way to become known would be by posting articles about fish. Many many articles. Just imagine what a sight/site that would be.

We should get rid of avatars too!

I'm torn... although ultimately I'd rather keep the post count...

I dont think it makes much difference either and although alot of these 20,000 poster might be "wow nice tank" posts these are also equally important to the user receiving the praise. Each to their own i guess

But in reality al these posts with the little arrows or the quotes dont realy matter and only contribute to post count...

I don't think post counts matter. I think making intelligent thoughts in complete sentences while using proper punctuation and spelling goes a lot farther on telling me how intelligent the person is.

I was on a board once where we had a good karma/bad karma system. If you did something good, or helped someone out, you got a +, if you were an ahole, you got a -, unfortunately, this can be abused as well.

basically this is the only forum I post on, all the others I just view, not post. I don't care for post count. I'd rather read, become well informed on the situation/subject then post, which works instead of speak my opinion and get barked at, it's only taken me my whole mfk life to realize this, lol.

Not all forums add to your post count, example being the lounge and buy/sell - if that were the case my post count would be in the millions....lol

Post count is, in most cases, worthless. It should be post quality, not quantity, that counts. Many people have few posts, but the posts they do have are intelligent, and helpful, instead of just "LOL" or just the posts with that people seem to be so fond of.

The only area i'd like to know someone's post counts, is when i'm making a purchase from them. I would prefer to buy from someone who has been very active on the site, because of the "trust factor".


Edit: I've seen on a few other sites, people get points when they make a good post/solve a problem. How about we adopt a modified version of that?
