they know how to whistle these "wish they were cockatoos" birds...
haha

mine also talked..but they talk from mimic.. he used to say "HI Charlie"because he would mimic me when i said HI to him..so they talk to but very limited..

Lizz, all birds talk out of mimic.

Because of that... do they do accents?
of course. They repeat -mimic- what they hear and in the way( as in sound ) they hear....

:D

yes but my gray actually says things in the appropriate time frame.. like when it gets dark he starts saying "goodnight".. or if he wants to come out he will ask you when he knows it is his usual time to come out.. so he mimics but understands the meanings of what he is saying..he does his poopies in the garbage can when i ask him to go:D he will puff up and wiggle .. and go:D and then he says "good boy" :D

and that is very true. They start by mimiquing and then they start associating which sounds suit to what circumstance....

if you stop that "good boy " scene, and start saying "orbital interference" everytime he goes to the poo place, in no time he'll start, upon poeeing, to fluff and wiggle and go "orbital interference" , "orbital interference" on you....

want to try?

yeah i will. I have a friend that keeps africans, and my uncles keep macaws... I'm not sure on others...
When I'm in a situation to get one and I'm finalising plans, I'm sure you'll find some questions for advice in your pm box :D

Will do!!
