i do believe that silvers lose all their color as they grow, my at 5" was bright pink with almost pale blue tips on the scales. it was beatiful, now at 22" there is only a slight pink and blue tint left on the scales... seems to fade with time. both of the other aros i have were purchased at a larger size so most of their color was already gone when i picked them up. i guess your best bet to keep any type of color, if there is any chance, is to mantain excellent water quality and keep the fish's diet varried. i feed my silvers : massivore pellets, food sticks, fresh scallops and other white fleshed fishes that i catch at work, insects, and every once and a while a large comet or two. good luck

On that I think it depands on the diet the fish eating and the enviromental they r in, I would not expect beautiful color if feed them pellets only regarless what they claim on the label.
Mine is not full grown yet, it only about 12" when he was baby it got pinkis and yellowish gold, it is now has a lot of pink and dark green on top when it picture is taken its shiny silver looking prolly too much exposure on my crappy cellphone camera

Depends on what you consider a full grown silver.

Mine at about 29"
