contrary to that, mine even developed better colors, here's a close-up.

My 22" Silver looks similar to that. (It's a bit wider and does not have that underbite.)

I think the color in a new scale or a growing scale has all that red and blue and hues in between.

Once the scale is fully grown and there are no new scales, the color become grey/silver as seen in Brian's aros.

My Aro (at 22") still eats every day and eats like a pig.. Add to that the Indian Summer (it's 85 degree plus in Bombay) and all my fish are expected to have high metabolism and hence grow a bit faster..

So, even at 22", my Silver has a lot of red and bluish tinge to his scales..

Cheers,

I don't think food plays any part in the colour I have very pale skin and if I just ate carrot I don't think my skin would turn red

But if I went out in the sun for a long time yes it would turn red

Just like if my mother or father had darker skin I would also have darker skin

Colour is down to genetics and light nothing more unless you are a flamingo :D

Actually, if you ate enough of them it absolutely would. Certain kinds of squash will do this also. It would have to be an insane amount for an adult, but this is not overly uncommon in infants and toddlers.

Blueberrys will work if ya can get the arowana to eat them. Wanna see something really cool? Get your arowana to eat Skittles:naughty:

you can feed spirulina to get the blues out. my aro occasionally swallows some.
But hey my aro is weird. he sometimes goes to the bottom and sifts sand with my geos.
