Yeah i didnt mean to be 2 rude or start trouble i just dont understand some ppl. Its obvious to anyone with even a small amount of brain capacity a shark doesnt belong in a tank it can only just turn around in. So either he is willingly cruel and deserves whatever flaming he gets or he is quite stupid and missing half his brain cells, either way he really shouldnt own a shark.

all you guys haft to say is you dont think or you know is tank isnt big enuff, there is no need to go into detail or say there dumb, thats not what MFK is about , no matter how dumb or what ever it may seem there is no need for that, we are all MFK and help each other, its comments that are added on that cause fights and people to stop long on, if u have extra comments that arent constuctive then dont say it.

I agree up too a certain point. So are you saying its not dumb to have a shark (or any fish for that matter) in a tank only just as wide (if that, it looks like the shark is bigger) as the shark is long? The same guy also has a thread from like a week ago where he killed some of his cichlid's because he didnt know what a cycle was when setting up a new tank. Does that sound like someone capable of owning a shark? Either he is full of crap or not very smart so i stand by what i said.
And yes up to a certain point MFK is here to help. How exactly can we help this guy who supposedly already has this 30" shark? Are you volunteering to help build and pay for his lagoon? Ppl who do stupid things need to be told there stupid so it wont happen again.

Yeah I also agree with USMCtanker.

It's not about flaming the guy because he has a shark in a tank that isn't wide enough. And stating that he should know better - when it possible he may not. Especially when you don't know for a fact that he does know better.

After all it's equally as likely that he may have been given bad advice when he got the shark - from either his LFS or a Book like "Aquarium Sharks & Rays".

And for the record - I heard of some LFS owner telling customers that sharks - like other fish will only grow as big as the tank - which of is a load of crap. And then you have well publized books like "Aquarium Sharks & Rays" which states it's possible to keep a 36-40" Bamboo shark in a 180 gallon tank. Which also is a big falsehood.

Yeah like i originally said i do agree with some of it and maybe i went abit overboard. I just think there are limits. If he had had a bamboo in a 180 that wouldnt of been so bad as like you said there is plenty of bad advice out there and lots of bamboo's for sale. Its pretty much common knowledge to anyone into fish that nurse sharks get massive though and it wouldnt of taken much research too find out buying one was a bad idea. As far as im concerned as is the law and most things in life, ignorance is not an excuse. Ok he shouldnt of got flamed so i apologize for that but he still should be told he stuffed up.

well there was a store in a suburb of chicago that had three nurses in a 220 and for the time being they didnt look too cramped,i told the owner i would love to have one but i didnt have a system large enough for one,he said a standard 125 would be good enough for 1 of them, well,ya cant exactly punch someone in the face for being stupid, but when he told me he already sold 2 of them to a guy with a 180,i sure felt like it.sometimes when your standing there looking at these facinating animals you dont think first, you pull out the bank card.at least thats what the owner of the pet store is hoping for.good luck guy with the monster,i hope you do the right thing and find someone with a pond that wouldnt mind taking him in for you

i agree (again to a point) with what chris is saying and where he's comming from... there are people out there who are total dumb***es and won't listen to you unless you go crazy in their faces....

"oh this guys says it get's big, hmm... w/e maybe he's wrong"
-vs-
"who this guys going nuts, maybe he's too vehament for this to eb a small problem"

but then again there's also
"whoh, calm down psycho!"...

some people really don't want to believe what they are doing is creul and bad for a fish they may really deeply care for...

there was a lady who i talked to that was told her BGK only got 9'' long so she had it in a 55 and it was 10'' long... we were talking about it and she said she had a 'huge' NGK at home, i asked how big it was and told her they get a lot bigger..
insted of not believing me (we've talked before, she knows i know alot) she said, dam i guess i need to start saving up for a bigger tank.. (i told her like 150ish)

some people can be reasoned with but then again there's also the guys that think goldfihs can live in bowls and fish only get as big as thier containers...
