It's a stunning animal and I agree with andreas. It's defenitly not a Falkeneri we have a small collection of falkeneri now and the look completaly different. But I think it is a very rare animal otherwise we schould have seen it in the tradmore often.

Frank

Hello Frank,

From your knowledge, are falkneri restricted or endemic to a certain area or are they more widespread than believed. Can you post some pictures of your falkneri.

Regards,

Wes

My friend fished near Parnaiba in Brazil last year;)
It 's not Parnaiba but more famous river though..

That's quite interesting :)
Could you tell us the location, where this specimen was caught by your friend? Or is it secret :(

Regards
Stefan

......and by the way, I've bought this female wildcaught ray with about 16" from Argentina this summer! The well reputated importer told me, it would be a falkneri, but I am not really sure, cause some friends of mine think, it's a castexi tigrillo or something like that  I really do not know very much about rays from argentina and especially not about castexis, so......

Does anybody know FOR SURE, which kind of ray this one really is?

Regards
Stefan

It's an Otorongo (Jaguar) as well Stefan.

THEY MAN HANDLE THESE RAYS IN SA. DID U EVER SEE PICS OF THE FISH MARKETS. THEY EAT ALL THE FISH WE KEEP. INCLUDING RAYS. A RAY TO THEM IS LIKE A BLUE GILL OR CATFISH TO US.
