This is a "castexi otorongo variant" in my opinion.

"castexi otorongo whit seam" http://www.raubwelse.de/galerie/rochen/r073.htm

There are many pics of "cstexi Otorongo" http://www.raubwelse.de/galerie/rochen/rochen.htm

Hello,

still Castexi Otorongo(just a huge spotted one and there some with only very small spots), and if in your Eyes it looks like Signata or Falkneri something goes wrong ;)
The ray has Otorongo Marking and Castexi tail.
Signata have completly different tail colouration (a long light coloured stripe on the side and small spotts ebough).

And falkneri have different marking (like frank said) and are from completly different location and if u saw thousands of castexi variants before u should have noticed that on the first view.

"AlexG have some of the same quality. "
Thanks but mine are Dark Otorongo with big spots, my light coloured Otorongo is far away from that great big spots.

I think it's an Otorongo Miles. Check these ones out, I just got them.

Well its pretty much the same pic you posted up but here you go. Maybe you can have someone translate what it says.

it reads " large and small unequal size pattern, dotted everywhere, this is the nicer looking jaguar ray"

so Castexi Otorongo it is then :)

btw, i'm really a chinese so i can read ;)

I think it's an Otorongo too.. but a very special one, maybe a hybrid?? The spots on the tail are a bit different then some of the other Otorongo's I have seen.. and yes on the pix of the Signata the tail is very different.

P. Castexi is the scientific name..

Otorongo is a common name that means Jaguar by the locals.. I was under the impression it means many small orange spots..

Motello means Turtle/Tortoise and means the spotting will be more like a tortoise shell pattern..

Tigrillo means Tiger, which will have numerous brown squiggly and orange squiggly spots..

Estrella means Star, which will have spotting but in tight little 'constellations' of orange dots in little patches

Blume means Flower, which is similiar to star and motello but almost looks more like a flower ray hybrid with all the castexi charecteristics..

Maybe someone can better clarify? I know there is a Zoology type website out there that talks about the variations of Castexi..

Never heard about Castexi called "Blume" by Peruvian Locals cause thats the German word for Flower.
And that Otorongo is no hybrid. The spots doesn´t mater, they are different from castexi to castexi or otorongo to otorongo, but the fat black stripes on the site are nearly allways the same.

In my eyes u just don´t want to belive it ?!?!?!?

Eek! Why it is being held like that?
