I'm going to wait and see how he gets it done. I have an empty bedroom too, I want to build it inside the bedroom. I already have the glass but my glass is 6'X30" tall so it will be slightly bigger :)

I think this will be a great Poly tank and I will put my AUL in there too :) Lots of plants, I may even put a sky light in the ceiling to get some sunlight in..............dreaming again............

Do you guys think I should laminate two sheets of plywood together, one slightly larger than the other so there's a ledge for the glass to sit in? I may go with two 1/2 inch sheets laminated together, that way I can overlap the seams also.

I don't know a lot about tank building, but I would not do this.
A single 3/4 sheet of ply is stronger than 2 sheets of 1/2" laminated together.. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but this question has been asked before on subfloor applications.. I don't know the exact answer, but I think they can bind the piles of the plywood better in the manufacturing process the Joe DIyer can.
