predator for my tank.

A Warmouth maybe? Biggest mouth on a lepomis sunfish, probably a little more active than the crappie, but not a bully like a green sunfish would be.

sculpin are pretty cool and voracious predators. I have one preserved in a jar that choked to death on a darter 2/3 its size

I'm try to create a scene in my tank that resembles the lakes, ponds, creek, etc in KY. I want most of the fish I can get away with in the 500. My temps are around 70-72 degrees, trying to keep my water the same temp as the water outside so when I transfer the fish, it isnt much of a shock. I dont mind inactive fish, to me they are part of the ecosystem. I still think its neat watching all the fish together.

I have a redbreast sunny that I love. Very active and curious. He is always swimming around and investigating. He also keeps the peace. At 4" he gets between my oscars when they fight, never seen aggression from him though. Having said that, I used to have a larger redbreast that was a bully, he beat up on my bass and pickerel if they ever came out of hiding. They can have some amazing color to them, mine has a blue tint to his body. Also an aggressive feeder and does not let the greedy oscars eat everything. He actually steals food out of the oscar's mouth. I would look into a sunfish species

Get a striped bass or hybrid, super aggressive feeders and are super active!
