So, I'm getting a 75 pretty soon here and I'm going to put a jag and a lima shovelnose in it. Is there really room for anymore fish? I was thinking about a Vieja Argentea, or some other cichlid if wich I have no idea. Any ideas on what to put with the Jag and Lima in a 75g? The lima could go if needed. Help! I'm going :nilly: trying to decide what to put with the Jag.

Jag and Jag alone lol maybe a convict lol. If you want to push it try a GT. Limas are to big for a 75. I wouldn't really put one in a tank under 125 gallons as they are just long and need the extra swimming room.

Odd, I was told a Jag would be fine in a 75G. But anyways, GT's are nice So I might go with that. Would it be crazy to try and out it RD or RT in with the jag? I'm getting the jag from rapps at about 2'' and would get the GT/RD/RT at same size. Think its worth trying?

My problem is that I'm just trying to make this the most monster 75 gallon ever! I want all these cichlids, but in reality, I'm going to end up with one once they fight and one dies. :nilly: I just need a monster cichlid, or two.

Unless you heavily overstock (and overfilter, and overclean) you'll just end up with one fish. By adding just two cichlids one will always pick on the other, there isn't anything to stem the natural aggression.

In order to do a "properly" overstocked tank (not that I reccomend it) you'd need at least 6 or so fish, all different species. Which just isn't possible in a 75 gallon tank.

If you really want to try it, get the smallest fish possible and grow the two of them up together. But you'll always have a (pretty good) chance that you'll wake up to a dead fish.

Stick with a nice male jag and I don't think you'll be unhappy.
