Just curious.

I've got a nicely equpped garage with plenty of room to spare and some money burning a hole in my bank account. If I end up going to school somewhere local, then I will have some free time as well. My thought? Project car.

I want to buy a straight and true Nissan 240SX and do the usual sr20 motor swap and suspension, etc. My question? Is it worth it. Time limit will be 4 years and budget will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $15,000. I'm no stranger to mechanics, btw. I will be doing all the work myself, so that's something else to factor into the equation. Is it practical?

S13 or S14? Also, do you have to undergo emissions inspections and testing in your state?

Is it worth it? Depends on how bad you want a project or the finished project. You'll never get the 15k you put into it back if that's what you mean. But if it fulfills a desire to own such a care then IMO it's worth it.

Here's some inspiration for you....This is one of my old buddy's ride. The engine bay is so clean, you could eat out of it.

i got an s13 coupe, basic sr swap, silvia front, tein HA suspension, locked/welded diff, volk mesh wheels with a nice offset. s14 seats. custom fmic piping with an ebay fmic size is 32"longx12"highx3"thick. didn't spend to much and i can have fun with it and its fairly reliable. drivin it back n forth between LA n SD plenty of times. i can break down the pricing if you want so you'll get some kind of an idea. it doesn't cost much to make a 240 nice and fast.

Just get a Saturn Ion Redline. Requires much less work! That's what I did, because I'm a worthless shi* when it comes to working on vehicles!

Subaru Impreza WRX STi, thats what I would like, or an SVT.
