which is why i OVER priced EVERYTHING. lol. jus to average out those nickle n dime items. 1200 for a diff, but if he uses a used on or welded diff it'll shave off over 1k. i guarantee he can get everything i listed for less then 7500 if he shops right. i just maxed out the possibilities in expenses

heres a few pics of mine

There are a few things I'm planning on doing that will add a fair amount more money than you alotted. Tein coilovers, wheels and tires, and mild body work to name a few.

I would just like to point out that ethnics did a good break down. In fact makes me want to build another car. But there will always be the things that nickel and dime you to death that you didn't factor in price.

Agreed. Things like hose fittings etc. can add up without you realizing it. Been there done that...shocking thinking back. :)

Cool, just wanted to point it out to anyone reading thinking about building a car. There's always fittings/lines/belts whatever that might not make it during the transfer of the swap or things like oil for the diff, gaskets, etc. You can build a car for cheap but there's cases where you are on a strict budget and didn't think about th $50.00 in oil, $20.00 gasket, etc. That's all I meant.

15k is a huge budget. You can do so much with that if you know what you're doing.

actually i did include tein coilvers, and rims n tires in my list. body work was never an issue to me because if your using it like i do, things happen. stuff gets hit, other cars get hit, shredded up tires go flying everywhere. which is why i chose not to do bodywork. with more body damage possible in the future, i couldn't see myself paying for something i know will get messed up

Got to consider all the stuff that breaks along the way as well. Up keep on a 'performance' car is not a small bill. For a race weekend, I'll take three or four sets of pads, an extra set of discs, not to mention tires that get eaten up. Granted, Mustang stuff costs more than the import stuff....but a weekend of racing sets me back $1500 or more each time.

It's not going to be a "race car". I'm going to drive it on the street and whatnot.
