Is it legal to run such a set up in the states? Pain in the ass here since the cops are a major b***h. Also if you strip out stuff like the creature comforts, after a while it comes tiring to drive. I found that was the case with mine anyway.

You'd be suprised what still breaks on the street. Just because it's not a "race car" doesn't mean it won't be a money pit. In fact most project cars are just that.

Besides pollution laws(smog) and state safety inspection laws(the states differ as the when/how often the car needs inspected.) you can get away with some pretty wild stuff.

There are places where cops will get you for exhaust, and other violations though.
