I really hope some of these fry exceed the redness of their father so I know I'm at least heading in the right direction.

Nice project! Do you know if the red increases with time? Does it stop growing at a certain age? Does the intensity of the red stop at a certain age?

I believe genetics plays the largest part in red coverage in Firemouth but like fish_n_vw in a previous post, it does increase with age and good diet.
