I am sure that you had to give a light sanding to give the paint something to grip onto... But, did you have to prime it...? If so, with what...?

Actually I didn't even sand it. Probably should have though. Primer is not necessary, it is a plastic paint.
 
Nice work man. I might do one of these on my 90. Ill actually probably have to im gonna see if overfiltering the hell out of it works first

To prevent waste from settling on the bottom of the tank.

If this is in reference to your other thread then yes and no. You don't want to use a ugj system with an undergravel filter. Of course in my opinion you don't even want an undergravel filter but that is another story.

You could benefit by using the holes you have drilled in the bottom of your tank and using them for an underground jet system installed as a closed loop using the reeflo pump you mentioned.
