Quick overview of the plan. The two large pieces that measure 72” length will be used to create a headboard for my bed. Two of the smaller pieces will be used for side tables. The two pieces on the right that are almost the same size will be used for a wall mounted wine rack or a sitting bench depending on the price quote I get for some live edge pine. Another piece will be used to create a bench seat for the dining table that was previously made. There will be 1-2 shelves created as well
Quick update. I have currently done about 3 hours of work on the first 3 pieces. A lot of sanding but this step is critical to bring out the natural grain in the wood. The belt sander makes quick work of the deep gouges and finishing with the orbital gives it a finished appearance.
The front 3 boards in the photo have all been sanded to about 90%. Not quite finished yet but look at the difference between the untouched wood behind.
Bump. Slight update. Popped the side tables out of the mold. They turned out pretty good. Still need to create legs and polish the edges. Started working on the bigger end table/desk for beside the sofa. Finished making the mold yesterday. Just waiting for epoxy to cure.
