Project

That's a grand idea for the display tank! Perhaps a simpler board idea would work since live edge may be a little awkward to work with when a straight edge is needed?
Really just need to buy a piece that has the minimum width to be the max width of the tank for the top. Most of these slabs are 2.25” thick hardwood. Very strong. To do the outside of the tank I would probably have multiple slabs cut or buy the offcuts of the flat back slabs. These would all have a straight edge on one side and likely bark with a bit of wood on the other. Stack them like you do when cladding or wall murals

Very nicely done.

Small set back on the project. Through my high exposure I developed an allergy to epoxy (self diagnosed). Apparently no one is born with an allergy to epoxy. Your body develops it through high exposure as it messes with your endocrine system. I have developed a rash on my hand, arms, and ears. This is of course self diagnosed but I can say with high confidence epoxy is the cause. Fortunately I am most done at this point. I will wait a few days and then finish this project off
