I started falling asleep in the beggining. It was kinda boring IMO....i compare it to Aliens 3...which was also whack! My girl liked it. But not I.

Prometheus was like watching paint dry it was so slow in the beginning. Cherlize Theron and Guy Pierce was promoting the movie last they were the main characters, but Cherlize was in the movie less than 10 minutes and didn’t have any significant parts and Guy was in the movie less than 5 mins. Very bad plot and way too many questions still left unanswered.

i thought it was a pretty good movie, the visuals were stunning and so was the whole setting. it's not a alien prequel but it is in the same universe. it sets the tone for the other alien movies where the company is desperate despite all the present dangers to bring a alien lifeform for them to research and weaponize. the thing is that these aliens (the space jockeys) have already created a weapon using the alien 'genes'. of course they lost control of it too. it seems their weapon would breakdown the life form infected and facilitate an evolution of sorts torwards the final form of a xenomorph. there are some things that are not explained but if anyone ever watch the tv show LOST, the same writer of the movie btw, you know that this is his style of storytelling. letting you take what you want from the movie instead of serving it up on platter for the lower denominator like most movies.

it might of been to seed life on earth. but who knows really, its not something that was ment to be answered. maybe in the sequel to this. but i also think the movie can stand on it's own.

how do we know that was earth?
I thought it was an experiment gone wrong. That's why they dropped him off-just in case.
also, the aliens were different.why? the young ones seemed the same,so where were the adults?..and the black liquid that turns into an alien? a little too loose of storytelling.smart storytelling-no.more like their rabid fans had to have another alien movie, but it's played out,so they went in a different direction, still trying to tie it all in....w/no answers, they keep you wondering, therefore still interested.

.....or...There's oil in these here caves.give it a taste.let the android try it.whered he go? damn smartass robot never round when ya need him. just rub sumadat black stuff onit,it'll loosen ya up. I dunno, but if it moves, kill it!....Hey I found a giant sleeping overhere! Lets wake him up and ask him what time it is! Damn,I think he's hungry.run!

I prefer high class storytelling like this rather than being spoon fed like a helpless baby

There's a big difference between storytelling that's damn good and the "holes" in the plot just add to it (see Blade Runner, for Ridley Scott doing this well! Is Ford a replicant?!) and just plain crappy scripts/editing/whatever.
I think people get confused when something is hard to follow and think that it's "artistic and complex" and eat it up... Sometimes it's just crap. In this case, in my opinion, it was indeed just crap.
