I prefer high class storytelling like this rather than being spoon fed like a helpless baby

O.K. then what was so interesting about it,besides the hype? These are basically action movies, right. It seemed cliche-scientists vs the military-no soul in the robot-fountain of youth-explore space, find monsters-same old same old

how do we know that was earth?
I thought it was an experiment gone wrong. That's why they dropped him off-just in case.
also, the aliens were different.why? the young ones seemed the same,so where were the adults?..and the black liquid that turns into an alien? a little too loose of storytelling.smart storytelling-no.more like their rabid fans had to have another alien movie, but it's played out,so they went in a different direction, still trying to tie it all in....w/no answers, they keep you wondering, therefore still interested.

from reading interviews with the director it sounds like it started off as a prequel but took on a life form on it's own, hence loosely having some tie ins while not completely making sense.

i agree the first alien killed himself to seed earth.

blah, this movie is annoying, i can't stop thinking about it because of how many stupid questions it left unanswered. F you ridley

The thing is that I think most of us wanted an actual Alien prequel, not some BS pseudo-prequel that has all these open ends. What is it with these great film makers aging and making crap like this? George Lucas, I'm looking at you buddy.

It has open ends because there will be two more movies
The story is far from over

The xenomorphs are evolving that's why at the end it looked different. I dont understand why people are confused.

If you read the first third of a book you would have open questions too, chill out and wait for the sequels

everyone wants a story on a silver plater and dont realize that a good movie keeps you thinking about the themes and ideas presented in the movie well after it's over. like the idea of creators, their responsibility to who they create. the aliens seem to have created humans, and humans have created david the android. what answers do the creators owe humans? why did they create us? you know, fundamental questions about life.

trilogies are not suppose to be the equivalent of a third of a book. it's suppose to be 3 seperate stories in themselves that tie together. if you don't get theres major holes in the plot then you just don't get it. cant possibly argue with someone who thinks they see something that's not there. y

Yeah the best movies need blogs to explain them. What a joke. I have aced several college film classes and wrote that exact same sort of crap analyzing films--try a 10 page paper on "Dead Man."
Like I said, people confuse creative and open ended with bad scripts and editing. Critics that analyze film for a living almost universally agreed with this as well.
