Prometheus * SPOILER ALERT *

honestly i 'got' the movie. but i think that's from being a ridley scott and aliens fan ( i read the comics too). this will surely go down as a cult classic. One thing to consider is that you are saying the same things about Prometheus people said about Blade Runner when it was in theaters.

Well, Ridley Scott bounced back n forth on what Prometheus really is or was. He originally wanted to write the prequel to Alien but said that the story and idea took on a life of its own and seemed like its own entity. Thats why there's similarities and differences.

And the Alien head shape is a PENIS. H.R. Giger created what the aliens look like.

from reading interviews with the director it sounds like it started off as a prequel but took on a life form on it's own, hence loosely having some tie ins while not completely making sense.

Let me also say, I aced a college class in mythology as literature last fall and have read plenty of the Bible (10+ years of church six days a week minus summers). IMO Ridley and that blogger are reaching pretty far.

And it has nothing to do with what a "good movie" is... Plenty of movies are flawed and are still "good."

Simply talking about script/plot here, and how it affects the movie. On that topic, I do feel qualified to discuss the mythology and Christianity themes presented in this film, probably more than the average person that sees this movie.
