its the GNC brand. "Pro performance". has 20G protein per scoop (more than muscle milk).

i just made another shake with 4oz water, 1 scoop of protein, 1 bannana, 5 cubes of ice then blended it. tasted MUCH btter. :)

GNC Pro Performance protein is a good buy however just comparing grams per scoop is not the best way to measure which powder is better assimilated.

1 scoop GNC =20grams protein each scoop is 31 grams? What else are you consuming 11 grams worth?
Protein blend:Proprietary Protein Blend (Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides)
Whey Protein Concentrate is harder to assimilate

2 scoops Muscle Milk= 32 grams of protein in 2 scoops or 72 grams
EvoPro™(Calcium And Sodium Caseinate, Milk Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Peptides, Lactoferrin, L-Glutamine, Taurine) plus fiber , vitamins, MCT's...lot of sugar/salt

Personally as an all around protein drink I prefer HDT Pro Blend 55
2 scoops= 55 grams of protein each scoop is 35 grams or 70 gram total
Ultra Filtered Whey Protein Concentrate, Micro-Filtered Whey Protein Isolate, Micellar Casein, Egg Albumin, Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate, Ion Exchange Whey Protein Isolate...

Right After my workout and right when I wake up I use AST VP2:headbang2
1 scoop= 23 grams of protein each each scoop is 28grams
100% Hydrolyzed "Oligopeptide" Isolated Whey Peptide Fractions Consisting Of Precision Engineered Whey Peptide Isolate Fractions [Beta-Lactoglobulin, Alpha-Lactalbumin, Protease Peptone, Glycomacropeptides (GMP)]

buy 1 dozen eggs...
separate whites from yolks...
drink whites...

I like to use soy milk instead of water too (regular milk works, just higher saturated fat). The amount of soy you use will add an extra 6g of protein (yes, I know it's soy, but soy protein is still effective, just not as effective as whey).

I don't work out in the general sense so much, but here is what I do on my days off.

Wake-up: multi-vitamin and 1/2 tsp glutamine mixed in with 2 scoops chocolate whey (1/2 cup ice, 8 oz soy milk, 1/4 cup yogurt, 1 banana)

Right before my morning bike ride (12 miles): 2 scoops of twin labs Endurance Fuel. Great economy use of the 4:1 carb/protein blend.

After ride: Same thing plus 1 tsp glutamine mixed with whey 15 minutes after the first drink, I don't make a shake... just slam it.

Whey shake sometime in the day

Whey before bed (no shake, just slam it with water.

$10 for a 2 mo supply of glutamine (check walmart! Cheaper than anywhere else and it's good stuff)
$35 for about 1.5 mo supply of whey (the gnc house brand)
$25 for a mo supply of carb blend

about $50/mo and I use quite a bit.

If you are wondering about the effectiveness of the carb blend for your use, read up on the nutrient timing school of thought. They basically show for your body to do what it needs to do you only need to supplement the right amount of carbs, protein, and a few other things at just the right time. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Strawberry is the absolute worst flavor for a protein shake, IMO. And mixing any protein powder with water is nasty. The best thing I do is mix it with low fat, nonfat, or soy milk. It gives it a nice richness. But yeah...there's no "great" tasting protein shake IMO.

Whatever. Only one egg in 10,000 effected. And a healthy male of middle age can easily recover from a little food poisoning.
Under the conditions I work, live and eat I get intestinal infections a few times a month.
No big deal. I am adapted to it. Keeps me regular.
But I will admit that the very rare occasion of explosive diarrhea combined with simultaneous uncontrolled vomiting...does get pretty interesting.
One of life's roller coasters.
