I dont have a test kit =/ i rly need to get one. but i never had one and i haven't lost 1 fish (except the batfish which was from transporting it) in over 3 months =/ but i really think i willg et one, what one should i get that is really easy to find instores?
I like Salifert test kits. That is what I use they are always spot on! you can buy them from www.marinedepot.com under test kits. Worth the money if you want a reef style tank
but the rocks will develop those nice algea colours soon if my calcium and stuff are at good levels?
okay, and i heard that with a protein skimmer u should wait about 2 months to put it in the tank, but i did get this tank and it was already had fish in it and stuff so does the 2 month rule still apply?
No. You want to install the protein skimmer asap. I used mine when the tank was cycling. "fishless" and it still pulled out a ton of skimmate. The bacteria and life on the live rock still breaks down. So yes install!!! BTW my buddy bought that same octo skimmer and he loves it!
