i think the discussion is about serious mfk'ers and people like that, not some rich guy who pays people to take care of a huge fish tank in their mansion

Agree, it's totally different if you have the money to hire a company build the tank and maintain it but otherwise are completely ignorant on the way it's stocked etc. Not saying there aren't hollywood star aquarists but probably very few.

i ain't any celebrity
and i am not a nerd tooo
the college basketball team captain who keeps really big fish and big tanks is how many people know me in my college

I don't think I fit the mold of a stereotypical 'creep in the basement' image associated with fishkeeping. I know girls are always shocked when they come to my house and see my tanks (past and present).

I'm a network engineer, most people think being into computers is nerdy, most people could never guess that I'm an IT geek. As for the fish keeping, everyone that comes into my home is blown away by my tank, I see them watching the fish more than the TV when we're hanging out at my house. Never have I thought fish keeping is nerdy.

nice t hear that , peaple say ooh you fishies that's uehm fun , until they see my tank
they go howly crap :d and my aro alway's goes eye to eye with the person and then open's its moouth bog time :d every girl is scared of my fish :d.
not bad i can say let's go in the jacus and you wil feel better :d

I don't really care if someone calls a person "nerdy" becoz of having fishes as pets. This is our hobby, our passion, this is our life. Without it what would become of us?

Ok incase we are "nerdy" at least we are not those slobs who sits in thier comfy chair all day and night and only watch tv and doesn't have any job.

Have always been proud of this hobby. Has it ever made me popular...no. Do I care? no. I'm in it because I'm absolutely passionate about it, I absolutely LOVE this hobby. Noone can take that passion away from me.
