And BottomFeeder has a good point about the amazon exhibit at NY aquarium. if you haven't already reach out to them. Also, I had a random idea last night... what about SUNY ESF... they could maybe use him as a teaching pet? I know it's a long shot and a totally random idea.

Maybe the answer is just starting a new thread on AC, asking the people to sign the petition. Your thread is a few weeks old, so people who already looked at it are not going back.
I signed the petition last week when I first came across it. It amazes me with all the real problems facing us today, that public officials feel the need to focus so much time, energy, and money on executing a single fish. If the powers that be would spend half of that time and energy on educating themselves and the public about this type of fish, we would all be better off. If nothing else, they should take this guy around to all the local grade schools and have him give the kids a little show and tell on fish keeping.
