The funniest thing about this whole story is the way the gov wants to put the fish down - EXACTLY the same way it would die if it miraculously ended up in the freezing cold river waters of the state.

Thats a heck of a snakehead! They should give it to a school. Cant they keep them with a educational license?

You cant do that. Thats the number one rule of fish keeping. They should send it to a MFKer in another country where its legal

well FINALLY here it is what we have all been waiting for .you are all the first to know about this so please i ask for now to keep it low key FOR NOW ,i just got off the phone with the attorny for the DEC it appears WE WON !!!! they are in the process of working out a permit with me WITH a few stiputlations ..i have to get a lock for the tank ,i have to publicly hold a few seminars are yr kinda open house to educate people on the fish and story ,report to them with documentation a few times a yr and need to apply and pay for a permit ..HERES WHERE I COULD USE SOME HELP .the permit is $500.00 a yr and no way around it but it beats 3-5k for a lawyer.i have sold off most the shirts and donated the money like i said ,i do still have some shirts for sale and have set up a PAYPAL ACCOUNT for anyone whishing to donate.

good news Seems as if you have won your battle, good for you. 500 bucks is a steep price to pay, but at least it provides the means for you to keep Rocky.
On a side note, make sure you don't use a combination lock. From what I've heard, along with all the other amazing feats snakeheads can accomplish, they also have the ability to remember combinations and open locks
