"Puking 13 year olds"

Last time I checked, members don't set the allowable age limit of the site. That is controlled by Li the owner. So.... regardless of what people's opinions are, the is a site that encourages membership of all ages.
I agree that it all just depends on your maturity,Alas I am but a wee lad at almost 15 but I don't really act my age
I work,think before I act and don't feel that there is a need to be a internet warrior,plus I try to be as respectful and beneficial as possible in this hobby to others and myself. It feels as if was just yesterday that I joined this awesome community at the tender age of 11ish,I feel I have matured a lot since then too.
It all really depends on the person and their personality.

People are entitled to their opinions, whether it is right or wrong to voice them in certain situations is questionable. But, this is an online forum. If your being offended by people saying "puking 13 year olds", this will become a good wake-up call for when you reach the real world. Stereotypes can be applied to anyone and most people do them unknowingly. You just have to accept the fact that people will think what they want and you have to be the better person by just shrugging it off.
I don't feel like I'm treated differently here and I'm 17. Its how you respond and react when certain situations occur. Even I'm guilty of loosing my cool and snapping on another member or troll. Which I'm usually remorseful for later (if it was a member).
My opinion on the puking comment, is that I'm not offended by it. To be honest I wouldn't even consider it a stereotype since its not accurate at all. Was he implying we all drink underage and can't hold our liquor or that we are all anorexic?

It all boils down to respect. This means valuing others opinions and be able to admit when you are wrong, this is what the site lacks. Just be polite and you wont have problems.
On a side note:
Does anybody elses LFS enforce age limits on buying fish? Im 23, but a couple weeks ago I went to an LFS i dont usually go to and picked up a black belt cichlid and some foods. I go to checkout and they are like can I see your ID? I had to think about what I bought for a second. I was like what why? 18+ is their policy now. I guess they dont want to deal with kids either. Is this all LFS anymore? Ive never heard of it.

i love having young people join MFK... thats the way to keep MFK and the fishkeeping hobby going strong.. i know when young people join your going to learn the correct way of keeping fish... and besides all that... you guys and girls are fun... i wish i was on here when i was a teen... wow i would have had a ball...
