Thats a lot, but I would over do it for most tanks. It will last a lot longer if you over do the amount that you have. I personally have about 3 times as much in my tank that I need. How much did 2 liters of purigen cost you. .1L cost me 13 dollars.

I over do everything. I put three packs on my 55, and a nitrazorb, although nitrazorb sucks.

Steve, you missed the decimal point. I put .1L aka 100 mL! It keeps my nitrates at 5ppm

Ditch the nitrazorb, and just use Purigen. It keeps my nitrates almost non existant.

Woops...didn't see that.

You guys definitely got me using it and I am very happy with the results so far. It has gotten rid of a lot of the tannin in my 600. After a day I already have to recharge it.

One week with 250ml in my 75 and it's exausted. I wonder how the 100ml per 100gallons for up to 6 months works.

I never did get below 12ppm of nitrate, but seeing as that's over half less then it ususally is, I'm fairly happy with it.

If you have one neon in a 100 gallon tank, 100 mL of Purigen will last 6 months. Its great, Im glad you like it.

OK, if i've asked this before, I was drunk and forgot.

What about the other DOCs that are in your tank? Isnt nitrate just and indicator for the level of DOCs?

If it's not removing them, then you're basically getting a false reading.
I hear people raving about lower nitrates. That's cool, but who cares if it's not taking care of everything else?

Until I can get a good answer, I'm sticking to water changes.
