Purple African cichlids?

There is a species called Pseudotropheus purpea. They are very purple. Problem is they are not readily available. Never seen this fish for sale.

Sorry Mike, I was wrong on the name. I meant Pseudotropheus purpuratus. I put it in my last post from memory. This fish is featured in TFH's Cichlidophiles in the January 2005 issue. Males are yellow on the bottom and purple on top.

Sorry I don't know of any sources but the article did say they have been available in the aquarium trade before. I would check different cichlid clubs on the web. Try googling the fish's name.

Pseudotropheus Elongatus Mpanga are very purple

Pseudotropheus aurora are a nice light purple.
Tried to get some pics of them but they wont stop moving lol
