I catch lots of purple bluegill. Especially when water is cold. Did it look like this?

They get darker and verticle banding comes out. Mostly see them like this off the ice or ice out. Another pic for you.

Hah! I knew the purple fish was going to be a bluegill. And I'm with MN Rebel, that last pic looks like a green x bluegill hybrid.
Feed it give it love and affection and soon it will be a nasty hateful bullgill. My favorite family of fish by far

I've notice a lot of my fish will change colors throughout the day. For instance when my large and smallmouth bass are about to go eat a minnow their lines and spots will get really dark. But other times they will literally have no dark markings on them.
