Got some more updates for you guys....
Pertaining to the question above...... I decided to go with Silicone and Sand. The original sand that I purchased I ended up returning to Michaels Art Store and I walked next door and Purchased some CaribSea's "SuperNatureals" Fine Sand Black And Fine sand Brown and Mixed them. They Blended Perfectly!
Take a Look!
First Section in!
Here is the Spray Bar that I picked up for few dollars online for the Fluval 404 that I picked up off of CL for $20 the other day.... This will hide the output for the 404.
The rest of the Corner Piece is in.
Cleaned up the Sand.... Just wait they get better....
Just a few pics to show the Size of the hole that I created for waterflow from the grate to the intakes...
Large Feature Rock installed....
Left Side corner Rock installed.... I didn't take to many pictures of Siliconing the pieces together as everyone has seen silicone being apllied before...
If you look closely at the top of the tank just under the frame, to the right of the corner closest to the camera, you can Barely see the hole that was made for the Fluval 404 Intake pipe. The FX intake pipe hole is just to the left of that on the raised portion of rock.... teh FX5 won't really even be visible... There is also an access flap that was made on the rock direct to the left of the intake hols, behind the corner of the tank in the pic there....
These are two intake grates that I created on the rightside of the large Feature Rock...
The other grate for the Large FR...
Full shot from the corner. in this pic the right side corner access panel for the powerhead wasn't finished... You can see it finished a few pics down...
Group Shot of the Grates.... Like I stated a few pages back, I can always add some circular cut "corse" sponges inserted into the front of the grates being that there is a space that could hold them. This would aid in protecting small fry....
Right side corner access panel. I will end up finishing the endges with silicone and sand as well and then cutting a seperation line in the seams to allow removal when needed but keep a decent seal... So that water is not pulled in from the top, but through the grates as needed.
So.... That's about it. Had a few late nights, got some work done and there is the progress. I'll most likely be waiting until Sunday to add the substrate, fill it will partial tank water (from the other tanks) and conditioned tap water. I have had the Fluval 404 running on the Tropheus Fry tank for the last few days so that will be installed the same day as I fill the new tank.
