That really looks great! I think your DIY was a wonderful success, and I'm impressed with your craftsmanship. Really a stunning environment for some of my favorite fish (T. moorii)

Thank you sir! Yeah, I'm hooked on the T. Moorii and Sp. Black. both are Stunning as adults! Should get a couple of good Breeding Colonies out of them... If not.... Well I can enjoy them anyhow!:D

wow. nice tank. it looks great.

Thank you very much. All that I have is just the stand to finish off. I should be able to do that tomorrow... I'll get some more pics of that up as well.

Question for you all....

Should I take the Skin of the Stand up to meet the bottom of the tank trim or to the top of it to cover it up? I"m thinking that if I take it to the top it might prove to be a pain when it comes time to move it... It'll be a while before that happens but it's still lingering in the back of mind? The trim looks fine on the bottom so it would be unsightly if i only met the bottom of the trim....

THoughts?

i think you should leave the trim below the tank trim. Like you said it might be a pain if you ever decide to move it. I dont mind the look of the tank trim anyway. What color are you making the stand?

Thanks! I'm just going to go with sandeply for a nice sloot finish with no grain showing... Flat Black will be the hue of choice.

Okay made a little progress on the Stand skinning. Got the Bottom tray in and the Sides fit, glued and Screwed. I used 1.75" Stainless steel outdoor Screws.

P.S. Don't mind the "artwork" from the 3 year odl girlon the wall there. It's all going to be covered up in the spring. She grabbed the roller when I wasn't looking and ran it all along the hardwood floor, the wall, the futon chair and the WHOLE front of the 40gallon breeder tank that i used to have in this Front room here..... Luckily it's was all water based paint...
