Q's about aqua bid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So I guess we can only assume the fish aren't wild since no collection locale, collector name, or exporter name was given.

It's bad that it has to come to this, but taking advantage of buyers is worse. Props to Ken for calling him out.

You can assume whatever you want. I have no more words for people like you. Like I said before, if you don't like my fish, then don't buy them. Why don't you do something productive with yourself instead of being someone elses cheerleader

All fish I get are 100% WILD not tank bred, and I can guarentee that. quote]

Don't get it twisted. You were the guy that promised a "guarantee," and I was looking forward to it. Had you been able to present it, you'd have earned a new customer.

I think a simple post about how you got your fish and through whom/were you got them would easily clear this up. Plus if your fish are truely wild caught that is great news and I think people would be eager to buy them. You can not expect people to just believe whatever with out some proof though when you have such little feedback on aquabid.

I'm certainly not cheerleading on playing favorites with anyone nor do I have any motives to. I buy from several vendors here and eslewhere and would welcome another quality seller of CA/SA wild cichlids to my list of people I trust to buy from. But you have to prove yourself, and why not use this chance?

If you can own up to your guarantee that the fish are wild, then the case is over. if you can't then suck it up and deal with being called out. if you do have proof they are wild collected fish, then it'll squash the whole argument.

Ken doesn't need 'cheerleaders' to help him sell fish. His reputation exceeds him and people don't have to wonder what kind of fish they have, wild or farm raised. He lets you know.

If you don't have proof what you have is wild, maybe next time attain proof so people wanting to know they are getting legitimate fish are indeed getting them. I've been screwed by 2 vendors (not on this site that I know of) because they gave me a false guarantee. I was shipped 12 males instead of females and nothing was done to correct it because the guy guaranteed they were females.

Either provide proof, or deal with being called out. Being happy with a farm raised fish thinking it's a wild caught fish simply because the person is uneducated or the specimens happen to look good like wild caught fish does not mean wild caught fish are being sold.

Exactly! You were reading my mind. Ken's a good guy and if he's wrong will own up to it if that's the case, if these fish were indeed proven to be wild caught.

I wonder if it's illegal to knowingly sell fish that were collected and exported illegally. On the same note, I wonder if it's illegal to knowingly buy/process them.

We are all against that dumb HR669, so let's not give them any more excuses....

Man, I knew who you got the fish from on day one, I have seen the same pricelist. They were pond raised if Florida. Why won't you just admit it and get it over with, You are only hurting your self. I have been to Central America 8 times, I have posted pictures of us collecting fish on this forum and others, The reason wild fish are so expensive is the time and effort nessesary to bring them back. it's not cheap. What you don't seem to understand it there is NO commericial colletors or expoters anywhere in central America except on Lago Nicaragua in Nicaragua. You can't get them, Period! Central America does not have the infrastructure S. America has, no one has gone down there and got it started, We (Eddie Martin) and I have talked about doing that in Honduras and Guatamala, but getting fishfermen to collect is the problem, to them it's just all food. It ain't going to happen unless you or someone you know goes down there. To my knowlege there has not been a single collecting trip to those areas in over a year so there is no way you're going to have 2-4" wild fish. All it would take is one name of whom they came from and I would appoligize, you don't even have to post it publically, just send me a PM. I'll come on here and sing your praises. Ken

Ok Mr. Knowitall,
If you know where I got my fish from day 1, then why didn't you pull my card on your last post? Because you can't. I got these fish from a private collector who I am not going to reveal, but I can tell you guys the collection points of these fish. All of these fish came from Guatemala, the trimacs came out of Ocosito river near Caballo Blanco, RTM's came out of the Motagua river near El progresso. I have no more to speak about this matter

It is only illigal for the people who are smuggling fish out of the country. If the fish aren't on the illigal species list then its ok to own in USA.
