QUALITY MIDAS??

Lot of attitude on show here.....Egos abound! Plus a poor grasp of the English language, tut tut :nono: Good job I can rise above that, hey?

All I was asking for was some bits of advise from experienced Midas keepers (call it picking your brains) not to be told off and criticized for doing so. Whats this place for? Its a community of people interested in fish of all kinds and here in particular Cichlids from South and Central America.... I feel like I've disturbed a Ants nest here.

That image of the Large Midas, that I posted on the previous page, is obviously an older specimen - probably past his sell-by date but his colors are amazing and I quite like the body shape. If its such a hard task to be helpful and encouraging on here then I really think you shouldn't be posting.

English isn't everyone's first language know?

Well, he looks good. He has good form. He's probably a gold Midas, not a red one. If you want red, go elsewhere

Let me make things a little bit more simple for those who are a bit slow today... I said I was after a RED MIDAS..... and was the fish (pictured on page one) POTENTIALLY A RED MIDAS....

Negative - the fish that you pictured from Rapps is obviously an orange midas, that could potentially shift to white, or part white, or stay orange, perhaps even a darker orange with an adjustement in diet.

It will not become red, and as others have stated the quality of a fish is in the eye of the beholder, unlike pureberd dog shows there are no ideal confirmation type standards for midas.

Every other Midas thread I count how many posts before someone says "you know thats not a pure midas" usually two or three.

And the reason for that is so that history doesn't keep repeating itself, which is generally a good thing. Ignorance is only bliss in the mind of an idiot.

Ahhh... Just the chap I was most hoping would respond on this thread.... So you are saying that the best result I could expect to get out of that fish is a darker orange... fine. Is there such a thing as a naturally occuring RED MIDAS?... if so what would that fish look like as they grew (i.e. are there any pics showing their development). Or are all Midas only ever likely to get redder through diet?

So you asked without even knowing? Me head...make it stop...and I'm still offended about the English thing.
