Ive just been doing some reading online and was curious, anybody here ever have their Aro fins cut due to imperfections or past disease/injury?

Please share how you came to the conclusion of going through with the procedure. If you have done this PLEASE post some before and after pictures!

* For the people who have never undergone this procedure, what are your thoughts?

* Do you think its an un-necessary procedure all based on ego and looks? Would you do it if it meant having a better looking aro?

* Do you think its worth risking the life of your aro? Even if you found somebody who was good and willing to do the procedure?

FYI - This procedure is done on all types of Aros, if you have no idea what I am talking about, simply do a search online. :)

I'd assume it is simular to cropping a dogs ears in the sense that it is personal preferance, yet I'm surte this thread will bring a lot of different views

Very interesting.

i want to see how that aro in the first vid turned out.

im pretty mutual as far as doing this sort of stuff. i dont really mind non perfect fins. but if a had a 5000 aro i might think about it.

I don't see a problem with it. It even helps the animal!

Thats the thing, it doesnt really help them, IMO. Its more cosmetic that anything. Question is, is it worth it?

animal doesn't suffer, so, yes, I would say so. I understand the problem, but with an expensive fish, who doesn't want their money's worth?

If it is for the health of the Aro, then by all means get out the "VISA" and get the surgery on!

However if it is purely for cosmetic reasons I say no.

I belive to get a perfect Aro, it must start from day one, good genetics, perfect H2O, No injuries, no illness etc...
a natural thing maybe?

if it helps my fish then yes
but if its only to look good then a definite no
