Question for the Concealed Carry guys - holster options

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just not a fan of the round.

Go 9mm for cheap ammo and higher capacity, go .45 for stopping power. Really depends on what you shoot best. I'm a 9mm guy but I actually shoot .45 better. lol

I love to blow through a lot of rounds at the range so most of my guns are 9mm for the cheap ammo.

It all comes down to shot placement anyway.

I love the Glock tan guns, I looked for one for awhile. I'm picking up a new 19 this weekend and plan on having it coated with cerakote in the desert tan.

I don't buy the whole, more stopping power in a 45 than in a 9mm argument. If you hit someone in the right place with either caliber, they are dead. If you hit someone in the arm with either caliber, they are not out of the fight. I like the 9mm because of more capacity.

Crossbreed super tuck. I carry my XD sub everyday once it's broke in there's nothing that compares to it. (Mines in horsehide)

When you are just running to the store and don't want to go through putting it on I use a simple IWB soft uncle mikes holster I've had for 10 years.

does the gun ever come loose? I was eyeing one of these for my fnx-40 but wan't sure so I picked up a cheapo blackhawk universal iwb to tide me over.

i upgraded my holster since i carry 2 guns at all times. i threw my old one out and bought a larger sized belt. i no longer cover with my shirt as lifting it to take my guns out is too time consuming. i even dueled 4 people since the last time i posted here.

There's no point in arguing that .45 has more stopping power than a 9mm.

No. Great holster. I have 3. (XD, 1911, Sig)

I agree with all you said. My post wasn't directed at arguing with you, but just to comment on the whole 9mm vs. 45 comparison, since there are a lot of people that think that 9mm is inferior to 45.

Not to derail but since there is talk of 9mm vs. 45,which type of round do you guys prefer, hollow point or FMJ?

Range, FMJ. Home & Personal defense, HP.

Yeah the range I always shoot FMJ. 147 if it's available when I buy ammo online, if not I go with 124. Tons better than the standard 115. (Try it back to back)

I carry with Hornady Critical Defense or TAP.

Yeah, same here...I have some HP's by Anguila called I.Q. which are supposed to break off into three large chunks after penetration to cause more tissue damage.Don't know if it just hype or not and I hope to never have to put them to the test.

Hey I already said I'm a 9mm guy. :)

If a BG breaks into my house I'm grabbing the 12 gauge or AK before a 9 OR .45
