Question to big tank owners...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Over the past 10 years I went from a 55 to a 75 to a 150 and now just set up my 300 from glasscages.com and built it into a wall.

I Started with a 20gal went to a 55gal then to a 75gal an now to a 120gal.

5gal when I was ten.then10g 15g 5g29g20g. then3x10g another29 then 3x20h.an assortment of 2-5 gal tanks(about 15 of them) a custom 18g betta breeder.a 55 another 55.then shut them all down 6 years ago.5years ago a 10g(goldfish from a fair) 2years ago a 55 last month a 75g working on setting up my fishroom with most of my old tanks.after that a 180g

All and all, in about a year, I went from a 10g impulse buy (which my wife now regrets :screwy: ), to a 30g and then another 10g to replace the first 10g that littery shattered one day (don't ask cause I don't know?). About a month ago I bought a 77g (which I transported accross town with a broken right hand...not easy let me tell you) under the conditions that my wife can choose when I can buy equipment and fish. So far it is all aquascaped, filtered and heated but I need a python  , so until then...no African cichlids.

Isnt it amazing how a lot of people started with the humble 10 g tank ? ?
From 10 gallon to hundreds of gallons. . . another proof that this is not a hobby
but an addiction!

my first tank was a 25 gallon tank! i remember i carry by hand and walked about 10 city block wit it...

you mean to say it wasnt a 10 gallon ? :(

but 10 blocks ! .. thats no joke. how old were you then ?

I went from a 5gal to a 75 gal when i was 13, then went from a 75gal to a 268gal last week.

I went from a 10 to a 90 and a 125 overnight. a family member who was downsizing to a smaller house was generous enough to give my wife and i a 90gal corner tank with cabinet and canopy [beautiful setup]. He also gave us a 125 rec. shape with cabinet, 4 fluval 404 filters, net, heaters, lights etc. with hardly any experience at all exept a goldfish in a 10 gal. for quite a few months now i have maintained both tanks fairly well [i think] . two months ago i bought a tiger oscar, he got ich and treating him and the 90 gal was a lot of work. after treating the ich and doing all that required i fell in love it. now my fish tanks are something i really enjoy taking care of. i want a 300gal now...
