Hi fx5 owners, Can you tell me how big the filter is?

in cm
Height Width and length

also, how long is the power cord?

I'm thinking of getting one, but the problem is that my stand has no room for it, so I might put it right beside/behind my aquarium .

Unless I can manage to squeeze it in with my marineland c-530 filter.

My 125 gallon is 6 foot long, so if I put it beside it opposite side of all the outlets I need at least a 8 foot long POWER cord that coomes with it, or ill buy an extension, I also need like 8 feet long tubes for each output/input.

Do you guys know if its ok to put it directly beside the aquarium? will it affect the filter and how it works? ( the input, output will be a bit sideways// :/

EDIT:

ALSO one more question, since I have a TURTLE tank with fish the water level of my tank is a bit lower, so can I make the tubing going in the tank more? do you guys think its possible so my output can be lower

The FX5 is about the size of a bucket. The power cord I believe is at least 8 feet, so you should be fine. I have my FX5 under my tank, but all the way to the right. It is recommended to have it directly under. Hope I've answered your questions.

Size of a bucket? a 5 gallon bucket? like how wide in cm

and also is it hard to maintain and stuff, Do you think I can fit it in a 2 feet wide cabinet under my aquarium with my other canister infront of each other..

does it make a lot of noise,

and the hoise thing, can I make it longer like the tube of the output in side the tank I can extend it? since im a turtle tank ( water level low)

^^what he said, plus there are some videos on youtube from fluval that show you exactly how to set it up and how long tubes can be and whatnot.

Sigh, i might get this might not, I can get it for a good deal online.. but I already have a marineland c-530 and it does good, I have a 125 gall shud I really get another fluval fx5..

I don't knw its so big I dont have anywhere to place it.. unless theres a solution

Side or back of tank is fine. I love FX5s. I gripe though is the locking screws to tighten the lid is soo fragile.

OKay So Im getting an fx5 tomorrow, what media should I get?

Along with the large, white sponges that come with the FX5, I also use bio-balls, and ceramic and sometimes, charcoal. I don't use the polishing pads, because they always seem to clog and drastically reduce water flow.
