I just got my fx5 and man that thing is SWEEEEEET!! Best investment i ever made. It just fits under my 125 gallon tank. Cord is pretty long but not sure if it's 8 feet long.You could always buy a small cord for it to reach.

Just looked and cord is right around 6' long and unit is roughly 14" diamater by roughly 16-18" tall. It fits under my homemade stand so i'm sure it will fit under whatever you have.Like i said they sell short extension cords for very cheap. I would definately try to get it under your stand cause i'm not sure what 8' of head height will do to your flows? Good luck!
hurray just got my new fx5! I set it up, but it makes a lot of rattling noise, anyone know how I can eliminate this?
