They were about 4-5 years old when I got them and I have had them for about 3 years now. They are supper quiet compared to the new quiet one pumps (blue/black ones), which I haver three off. Two are used for under sand jets and the third is a back up for the original Q1 and used to do water changes. Compared to the older Q1, the new ones look like cheap knock offs.

Idealconcepts;947681; said:The older ones are rated at 1140gph at zero head. No extras to get rid of. I'm actually hoping they don't die on me or if they do I can repair them somehow since they are super quiet and use less than 100watts of power. Only problem with them is they get supper hot and I need to use a 12volt fan to keep them from automatically shutting down if they get too hot in the summer time. I have the fan running in the summer only and last year they never shut down. They also heat up the water a bit so when I do water changes I try to bring the temp back down. I checked about a year or two back looking for the original ones and no place I could find had them for sale.
It took almost a full year, 4 pumps and an upgrade to finally have a quiet sump! So, to anyone thinking about a quiet one pump, STAY AWAY FROM THE 9000 MODEL!!!
