Quite possibly the worst LFS ever

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I worked at my LFS a few years ago. It was a chain store and I had applied there to work in the retail and puppy section. I had absolutely no experience with fish and I was made manager of the aquarium section which goes to show how much these types of stores care about their fish. I worked my butt off learning absolutely everything I could about fish and was lucky to have another staff member who was a pretty hardcore hobbyist and knew quite a bit. It's sad to know that the person who was supposed to give advice to the customer had almost no experience with fish.

Sorry for your loss, it's good that the survivors seem to be hanging in there.

OMG i got the best idea!
u need to sew them for animal abuse. that'll show em. u really deserve like a free 99999999 gallon tank XD
the only reason the clown trigger "wasnt eating" was because he was eating, the fish.:WHOA:

Might not change much immediately, but there's always the Better Business Bureau and the local Chamber of Commerce. I don't know if there are local rules about pet stores.

Maybe there's some kind of recourse, like with auto repair shops . . . just making up an example, if you take the car in to recharge the air conditioner, they can't hand it back with the bumper torn off and the windows smashed, then claim something "just happened" and it's not their fault.

Its spelled sue. And why did u resurrect an old thread just to say that? :screwy:

so what you do is go back theyre with a cupfull of bleach and dump a lil into all theyre tanks so than maybe theyll experience a "loss" like u did! thats what i would do!

geez, I hope not . . . that makes, like, zero sense

we have several options in my area, but there is only one LFS that I will take fish to (Barrier Reef in Boca Raton); their tanks are always clean, and they never take a fish unless and until they can find a safe place for it. I have never had a negative experience with these guys . . .

I was about 3/4 of the way through youre saga when I start thinking- I bet they try and charge for whats left of his fish- it was a slight relief not to hear that

Oh wow.. that sucks!! I totally fell your frustration!!!
Sorry for your loss... Those people at the LFS shouldn't be selling fish/pets
IF they can't care for someone else's fish.. I don't care if it doesn't belong to them or whatever.. Your fish was helpless and they could've taken good care of it!!

Honestly i wudve punched one of the employees in the face if that happened to me... That really sucks. how are the fish doing now?

Why would you kill more innocent fish...? Just "pay a visit" to the manager's house.
