what exactly is this chemical?

call your water company and ask about it, if it kills fish, id question the waters safety for human use. so im alittle sceptical about that being the culpprit.

sorry for your loss bud, two days ago i lost my 31'' silver arowana, had her for 5 years as well :(

deeply sorry for your loss , i had a scare as one of mine hit tank wall hard and stunned himself this morning looked very bad but he is up as if nothing ever happened within 20-30 mins , but when he was down there sturuggling my heart just sank

yeah i was sure he took a hit but when i explained the symptoms to my lfs he said it was the water change 4 sure.this guy has lost many aros to this cause.he had lost half of his shop once to a water change.

im not sure what it is but sometimes when u have a shower u come out smelling like chlorine.also different suburbs water have a different taste when u drink it.there must be something in it that certain fish dont agree with.sorry bout the loss of your silver bro,he sounded like he was a real monster too.
