Had a oscar from 2-12" and about 10-12yrs.

I am not sure how long they live but he made it for 10-12yr.

I basically cut my teeth on that fish.

I am sure i could have squeezed a few more years out of him if i would have upgraded the 20 gallon tank.

i think that long in a 20g and only being fed goldfish is pretty good. It never had all this hith stuff you see now a days. never had a visable sickness at all now that i think about it.


Oh how the times have changed. Back then we did not have internet, so we had to trust the local lfs owners.

Today I had my Jag at the P.O. bagged, boxed and ready to ship.....
He's now back in his tank.
I guess everything happens for a reason.

I had 3 Oscars I bought at about the 1-2" size and they were between 13-15" when they each died at 10+ years old

Fish...no. I have kept my African Clawed frog since it was just a wee little 2 incher. She's going on 5 years now.

A few weeks after i was born my parents got me a ten gallon tank with a goldfish named red cap, because it had a red bubble on its head. After it outgrew the ten it went into a 30 and thats were it spent the rest of its life. It lived until i was twelve, so if you think about it thats pretty old for a goldfish from walmart. It had pretty much every disease that you could think of during the twelve years but ended up dying of old age.

well my first set of breeder mollies lived to a right old age of 5 under my care lol.

my others are are relatively young. so hopefully this bathc of fish will be kept for life.

@hybridtheory I'm amaze at your O you must have WC like crazy. typical O lifespan in captivity is 10yrs.

what kind of goldfish? most fancy are supposed to live 30-40yrs.

i won a common plec at a fair when i was four and its still going strong 12 years later

My plecos i always buy end up dieing after a month or two

i had a common pleco just die not sure why. he was 7 years old and 11".

still have 2 going stong 7 years old. 1 small cory and an upsidedown cat.
