Raised up reddish-pink bumps

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
got allot of respect for tom jaws, I would give him the info he asks for so he can help you and your fish.

Why not post water parameters like I asked? Some meds are better in higher pH some in lower pH some in hard and some in soft ect, ect. Also good to know there are cats in the tank. Treating the tank is fine a bath and tank treatment is better but let's have those parameters please.
Best I can do is the PH atm, ....as I stated when I joined MFK, I just got back into fish after a 4-5 year hiatus, so long story short a big expensive kit of testers "expired" in that time it was sitting idle and the only thing that changes the test-water color is the PH test. They are all still practically full because after a few times testing back in the day, everything was always the same cuz I do 50-70% WC every week, and I am a loon for bio-matter and media so I just started seeing it as a waste and decided "Why not save the test kits until I actually need it?"........what they don't tell you is they have expiration dates.

polyguard will do that.
What, exactly?
fungal is actually a fairly uncommon cause of infection in freshwater, even though we "diagnose" it and treat often for fungal. That being said could be fungal but seems unlikely also your description doesn't quite fit. tetracycline and oxytetracycline are an antibiotic choice.
So best treat for Bacterial/Parasitic and if it doesn't work THEN go after Fungal?

I would order a API master fresh water test kit. 17 bucks .

really? They were like $60 at the store I worked at, but there were like 10-12 bottles and it was FW/SW and tested EVERYHTING. Didn't think I would need one since I never used the damn one I had much. Never had a reason to. I guess it couldn't hurt to have Ammonia/Nitrate/Nitrite testers

I do not think any fish keeper should be with out one. test strips are crap. IMHO

need one to know when tank is cycled, and need them to test every few months so you know where things are running, as fish grow and bla bla bla your nitrate creep well change. good to know where that is it at so you can adjust accordingly rather than guessing.

I find it most usf ull in knowing when I need to do 2 water change on any given week to make up for the creep that takes place with one water change of 90% a week, or fin level. unless you do a 100% water change every week, that last 10% left in the tank will add to slowly rising nitrate levels, so every month or so depending on tank/stock, 2 water changes will need to be done to bring nitrates back to the base line 5 or less.

Still wondering about those red bumps though......still no idea what it is. You telling me you never seen it before?
